Lasker Ice Rink in Central Park.

Lasker Pool & Rink is a dual-purpose rink facility, located at the north end of Central Park, near Harlem Meer. It’s used as a swimming pool in the summer and a skating and hockey rink during the winter months. It’s also home to Central Park Ice Hockey and the Hawks. The rink was constructed in 1966 and named for Loula Davis Lasker, a philanthropist and the daughter of a German immigrant.

Events and Public Sessions

Located between 106th and 108th Streets in the middle of the iconic park, it’s used as a pool from July 1st until Labor Day in September, and as a skating party between October and April. Either way, it’s open 7 days a week and offers plenty of entertainment for people of all ages and abilities.

During the warmer months, visitors can spend their time in a wading pool or the Olympic pool. It’s free and provides a deck area, lockers, and a concession stand. Even if you don’t know how to swim, the organization also has a series of free programming like swim lessons and lap swimming.

During the winter months, the recreational site transforms into an ice rink, which is open for public use and events, as well as hockey matches and various other programs. They also provide lock and skate rentals and offer exclusive and non-exclusive arena rentals, including school parties and personal celebrations.

Programs, Practices, and Classes

Lasker Rink is home to New York City’s only all-girl hockey team The Lady Hawks, as well as the American Special Hockey Association (ASHA), and sled or sledge hockey.
