Niagara Falls Offers Many Different Attractions
Contents
Niagara Falls, New York is a place that is as famous for being one of the top honeymoon destinations in the nation as is it for the beautiful waterfalls. Families love coming to the falls for vacation as well. Niagara Falls attracts millions of visitors each year, and with good reason: there are tons of different things for the whole family to do.
The following are some of the most popular attractions that the family will find on their trip to Niagara Falls.
Visitor Center
The Visitor Center is likely one of the first places you will want to go when you begin exploring the Niagara Falls State Park. At the Center, you can get information on the falls, maps, guides to some of the attractions, and even pick up a souvenir. You will also find restrooms and places to grab a snack and a drink. The Center houses the Adventure Theater, where you can watch Niagara: Legends of Adventure on a 45-foot screen. The 40-minute show provides an interesting look at the history of the falls.
Cave of the Winds
The Cave of the Winds tour starts with a 175-foot elevator ride down the side of the falls into the Niagara Gorge. You then walk along wooden walkways to the Hurricane Deck, which puts you very close to the falls and lets you feel their power. Fortunately, you get to wear a souvenir poncho so you won’t get too wet! This is a breathtaking trip, and you can even book tours in the evening to see the falls in a very different light (or lack thereof!).
Niagara Scenic Trolley
This half-hour trolley ride will give visitors a nice overview of the park, as well as some great historical information. The trolley stops at six places around the park where travelers can get off and explore some of the attractions. The vintage-style trolleys make a great way to learn more about the falls and how important they have been over the years.
Aquarium of Niagara
Just outside the state park, you will find the Aquarium of Niagara. You can see more than 1500 different aquatic creatures that represent a variety of areas. You can see creatures from the sea as well as fish that swim through the Great Lakes of America. You can see sea lions, sharks, penguins, eels, piranha, and much more.
