New York City, also called the “Big Apple”, is frequented by tourists. From the Statue of Liberty to Central Park, here are five great spots to visit.
New York City is by far one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. From the Statue of Liberty to the Empire State Building, there is never enough time on a vacation to see all the sights NYC has to offer. The bright lights, the busy streets, and the chaos all make New York the bustling town it is. When visiting the Big Apple, these are the top five best sights to see.
Empire State Building
Made up of 60,000 tons of steel, 10 million bricks, 2.5 million feet of wire, 120 miles of pipe, and seven million man-hours, the Empire State Building is an architectural marvel. Being New York City’s tallest building, the Empire State Building rises up 102 stories above the ground. There are two observatories with spectacular views of Manhattan – one on the 86th floor, the other on the 102nd floor. The building lights up at night, with special colors for holidays. It is a must-see for any New York City tourist.

Take a boat from Liberty Island to Ellis Island to see the lady stand tall. Tours take visitors from the museum, situated at the base of the statue, up to the crown, which provides spectacular views of Manhattan and Jersey City. Tickets must be reserved prior to the visit.

The Rink at Rockefeller Center is popular during the Christmas season for its ice skating. Saturday Night Live and the Late Show with Jimmy Kimmel are both filmed in one of the buildings.
